What's Homophones?

Homophones: Words that have some pronunciation, but different meaning or spelling.

I'm going to list some examples, so you can 100% know what Homophones are! Let's start!


  • I would like to have some cookies with milk.
  • I had two cookies with milk.
Did you spot the difference? 

To/Two - They both have the same pronunciation but different meaning and spelling too. 

  • Maggie will write a story in her notebook.
  • Maggie was right about James.

Write/Right - They have the same pronunciation but different meaning and spelling too.

  • Jennifer's bicycle has a flat tire.
Tire in this sentence means: wheel filled with air.

  • Slow down so you don't tire yourself out.
Tire in this sentence means: feeling tired.
